What We Do
Excavation work such as road building, site excavation, grading, back fill, hauling, etc. have been 80% of our work. However over the last few years, due to client demand, we have branched into the areas of large under ground utilities to try and give our customer the piece of mind that we are handling the many different aspects of which are part of the building process.
Our machinery is new and kept in the best of condition because we know that your job is the most important job that we have, and timeliness is key to any job.
We are structured with multiple site teams, however manage the business in a functional style, including everyone from the office manager to the owner. We feel this disseminates information more rapidly and increases the functionality of our teams. This directly effects our customers as the job is done with fewer mistakes and better results.
Design-Build
Walker Excavation has experience in being an integral part of a team in the design-build arena. Jaywalk ski run at Big Sky Ski Resort was a collaborative effort between Walker Excavation, Inc., Genesis Engineering Inc. and Big Sky Ski Resort in which Big Sky wanted to increase the capacity of the ski run by doubling the width of the run to 40’ and improving the longitudinal slope to be more manageable for skiers.
Blasting of bedrock was utilized in areas where we needed to keep the new run from disturbing the existing fill slope. Other areas of the alignment were cantilevered off the side of the mountain to avoid excessive cut slopes. The project exceeded expectations and came in on budget.
